About your cover
Cover level?

All cover types will attempt to fix your vehicle at the roadside before transporting it to a garage.


Local - if your vehicle can't be fixed at the roadside it will be towed to a garage within a limited 'local' radius. Typically, this will cover transportation for you and any passengers too.


National - if your breakdown provider is unable to fix your vehicle at the roadside, they'll tow it to a garage or a place of your choice, anywhere within the UK. This typically includes transportation for you and your passengers.


European - get all the benefits of National breakdown cover plus cover whilst driving your vehicle in Europe. European cover is generally for up to 31 days per trip, and a total of 90 days per year. Please check the policy wording for specific details and the countries that are included.

Cover type?

Personal cover covers the person(s) named on the policy as a passenger or driver of any vehicle that meets the policy requirements, we can cover up to 4 people who live at the same address.


Vehicle cover covers the vehicle(s) specified on the policy, up to 4 vehicles can be covered as long as they are registered at the same address.

Annual multi-trip or single trip?

Annual - provides Nationwide cover when in the UK, you are also covered for as many trips to Europe as you need in a year, usually for up to 31 days per trip and with a maximum of 90 days in total.


Single trip - this policy type is only for a short period of time and is not an annual policy. Nationwide cover in the UK is provided as well as cover in Europe for the days selected.

Additional cover?

Home Start - if you breakdown within 1 mile of your home address your vehicle and at least 4 passengers will be recovered to the nearest garage which is able to undertake the repair.


Onward Travel - provides alternative transport in the form of a hire car. Cover can vary by provider but as minimum cover will be for a 3 door hatchback up to a maximum of £100.
